Beginner Calligraphy Auckland Workshop 16.08.25. Learn the art of lovely lettering with Emma from Inkberry Calligraphy at a Beginner Calligraphy Workshop. It will be held at the Melville Cricket Pavilion Melville Park 18 Saint Andrews Road, Epsom, Auckland 1023 on the 16th of August, 2025 from 10am until 12 noon.

In the class you will be shown the best equipment to use for dip pen calligraphy and then learn the foundation letters of Modern Calligraphy. By the end of the lesson you will be able to write your name and we will also make a bespoke greeting card for someone special. Let’s get lettering!

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

Beginner level- no experience required. The workshop is aimed at adults so you must be over 16 years old* to book.

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

Tutoring and a beginner starter kit to keep. This includes a pen holder, nib, ink and worksheets so you can continue the calligraphy journey at home. Light refreshments provided.

The workshop is limited to 12 learners.

ABOUT THE TUTOR

I’ve been doing calligraphy for 36 years and am passionate about lettering. Using a variety of nibs and inks, paints and paper, I love bringing language and design together to create bespoke stationery. In a fast-paced world, calligraphy is hand done, perfectly imperfect and every letter and word is unique.

I was taught traditional calligraphy but now I mostly use modern calligraphy lettering styles and methods. This new take on old styles is elegant, classic and magical. These letters are full of flourishes, bounces and swirls. I hope this popular lettering style will kindle the same passion for the timeless art of calligraphy in you.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Before you enrol in the workshop please make sure you agree with our cancellation policy.

There are limited spaces for the workshop so if a participant cancels their place, for any reason, no refund or credit (including transfer to another workshop) will be given. If you are unable to attend you are welcome to transfer your place to another participant. Please contact us and let us know their details.

If I cancel the workshop, a full refund will be provided, less an administration fee of $15.00 for administration costs. A cancellation would be due to reasons beyond my control such as an extreme weather situation, or a health emergency. I will send a cancellation notice to the email provided for the booking.

The workshop has a minimum number of 3 learners. If it is not met, the workshop will be cancelled and a full refund will be provided. I will give 2 days notice of the cancelled workshop by email.
