Custom Wedding Invitations
Custom Wedding Invitations are the perfect way to express all the uniqueness of you as a couple. The warmth of calligraphy lettering, a custom venue illustration, or a hand drawn flower immediately elevates and personalises your stationery. At Inkberry, we appreciate all those unique details of you as a couple and collaborate with you to create the perfect, bespoke paper goods.
The Process
AN INITIAL CHAT
First off, it’s great to have a chat with you and your partner – Face to Face, or by Zoom. I work nationwide in New Zealand and internationally so you don’t need to live in Auckland. In our free consultation, we discuss your wedding design ideas, and the inspiration you have for your stationery. I can show you lettering styles, invitation samples, paper and envelope textures and colours, and printing options. We can decide on which items you would like; from invitations and details cards, envelope liners, right through to on the day stationery such as wedding signage, place cards, and menus. We can also chat about all the little extras you can add such as wax seals , envelope addressing, or silk ribbons. You can bring any inspiration photos and ideas too.
THE STATIONERY AGREEMENT
Once you have decided on your order and the amounts you require, I’ll send you through a stationery proposal based on our discussion. At this point you can ask any further questions about your items. Once you’ve decided on what you would like to order, you let me know and I’ll send you my stationery agreement. The agreement has the description of each item including size, paper colour and design and cost. It also includes a non-refundable retainer of 50% which secures your space in my schedule.
THE PROJECT
When the stationery agreement is signed and the retainer paid, the designing fun begins! At this time, you can send through your invitation wording, guests’ names and addresses, initials for monograms etc. If you need help with invitation wording get some examples from my blog here. There is also some information on addressing envelopes on the blog here.
Then I will start your custom design according to our initial discussions. You’ll receive digital drafts of your stationery which is going to be printed. You can make revisions and when your stationery is perfect, you’ll receive a final file for your approval. I’ll then send your invitations off to get printed.
READY!
When everything is printed, your stationery is ready to be picked up or shipped. This is when the final payment of 50% is due.
If you ever have any questions during the process of creating custom wedding invitations, please just let me know. Every project is different and unique and especially tailored to you, so please let me know if you need any more information. I’m always happy to help.
I’m really looking forward to working with you!!
